In Order to send text messages to your asset the hardware needs to support this function. The Indigo Xplorer, Xplorer TS & MiWingman supports this function.
First, select the asset from your fleet on the asset overview window. Then single click your mouse on that asset name in the text list of your fleet on the left, this will then select this asset and display it centred on the map on the right with a pop-up bubble. Here you can either click on the 'Details' option in the Pop-up or Click on the 'Details' tab just under your login name as in the image below:
The Right Map window, will now change to a details window:
Here click on 'Send Message'
Note Incoming Messages from the asset will also be listed in this window, they would be listed and events under 'Activity', 'Events' and 'Alerts' if you have confirgured Text messages to raise an alert.
The Text Message Screen will appear, type your message in the text box, then click on 'Save'
This will then queue the text message to be sent to the asset (This will be seen in events) - you'll see it briefly while pending below the mini map:
Once it's out of the queue, the text message will show message sent :
