This article will outline the procedure for updating the firmware on the IndigoDUO unit.

You will need :

  • USB (B-Micro) Cable
  • The IndigoDUO unit

Step 1:

Please download the zip file linked at the bottom of this article and save it on your desktop.

Step 2:

Once downloaded, unzip the file to a folder on the desktop. There should be 1 file included in the ZIP file. (GRIFFIN1.BIN)

Step 3:

If the unit is on, turn off the I-ATS unit by holding down the power button for 3 seconds until you her the descending (power off) tone from the unit.

Step 4:

While the unit is off, press and hold both the YELLOW and the BLUE buttons at the same time until all the LED's turn on.

Step 5:

Press the BLUE button once, the green LED's will then flash one side and then the other side (repeating inner/outer pattern).

Step 6:

Connect the unit to the PC with the USB cable.

Wait for a couple of seconds and you will see a new "UNTITLED" drive appear on your computer.

Step 7:

Copy the 2 files you extracted onto your desktop in Step 2 to the "UNTITLED" drive and confirm the overwrite warning when asked.

Step 8:

Once both files have finished copying, EJECT the "UNTITLED" drive by right clicking on the drive and choosing "EJECT" from the menu.

Do not unplug the USB cable yet.

Step 9:

Once the drive has disappeared from your computer or you get a prompt saying that the drive has been ejected successfully, you can restart the unit by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds. You may need to release the power button and then press it again for 3 seconds until the 2 center LED's (Blue and Green) will then start to flash alternating while the unit updates the firmware.

Do not attempt to do anything with the unit during this process and leave it connected to the USB so that it still has power from the PC during the update.

Step 10:

Once the 2 center LED's have stopped flashing, the unit will restart again on its own. Once this has completed, you can then power down the unit and unplug it from the PC.

The unit should now be on the latest firmware.

Please power the unit on and place outside (with the antenna connected) to test that it reports back to the tracking platform again.
